Welcome to the home page for the Divisions of Hematology-Oncology and Bone Marrow Transplantation of the Department of Medicine at the University of California, San Diego.

Our two divisions are closely interlinked programmatically and in our predoctoral and postdoctoral training. Together, we have 37 full-time faculty members.

We are an integral part of the clinical, educational and research missions of the UCSD Moores Cancer Center.

We are deeply committed to the missions of academic medicine, including patient care, research and education.

Patient Care

We provide the highest quality of patient care for a wide spectrum of illnesses related to blood diseases and cancer.

Our faculty physicians are nationally and internationally recognized in solid tumor oncology, benign hematology, and hematological malignancies including acute and chronic leukemias, myeloproliferative disorders and multiple myeloma.

Our two divisions’ research activities are diverse and have a tremendous depth in a number of important areas, including stem cell biology, tumor biology and immunology, hematopoiesis, platelet and vascular biology, and cancer clinical trials.

The Department of Medicine is well supported with extramural funding. The Divisions of Hematology-Oncology and Bone Marrow Transplantation receive research funding from federal, state, and foundation sources.

We have an outstanding fellowship program that trains physicians to become leaders in the field of hematology-oncology.

We invite you to learn more about our divisions’ activities by exploring this website and we encourage you to contact us for further information.
