Research Interests

Dr. Herbst’s interest in blood clotting disorders has focused on clinical care delivery in hemophilia and other hematologic disorders which have lead to the development of programmatic approaches to improved treatment for difficult clinical syndromes. He has developed two Federal Region IX recognized programs at UCSD; the Adult Comprehensive Hemophilia Treatment Center and the Adult Comprehensive Sickle Cell Disease Center.
